New Robocop Trailer First Impression

RoboCop

"Dead or alive, you're coming with me." What can I say? When I heard the new RoboCop say those words I smiled. This is the new remake of the classic '80s of the same name. When I first heard about the remake I was unsure how to take it. Not because I think remaking a movie is sacrilege, quite the opposite. I think you can remake anything from Star Wars to Leave it to Beaver. It's all about context and how it's all handled.

This new version seems to focus a bit more on the family. In the original, after Alex Murphy becomes RoboCop we get an idea that deep inside something in him is still human, even though it's quite obvious he is just a machine. But in this new one, we get more interaction with his wife and kid, and real emotion coming from the Robot form. If the film focuses on the dichotomy of Man and Machine like I hope they do this movie has a real chance at standing out instead of being just a shot for a shot remake like I felt the last Total Recall was.

The new RoboCop seems slick and cool in a fresh way. The trailer is not big or overly flashy. Some might say it looks generic, but I think that plays into its favor. RoboCop was never that super big type of movie, but it was big enough that made you wonder. I'm glad to see from the trailer that the original silver on black look for RoboCop still exists and it looks like it will play a major role in the movie. But we do see that all black suit, which still looks off. Not sure if it's because it has no other contrasting colors, Black on Red may have been interesting or that the black suit comes off a bit rubbery and not metallic at all like the silver suit. Either way, I welcome the change as long as it makes sense in the movie. Well, enough talk. Here is the trailer:

Wonder Woman: First Look At New Costume

There is a new Wonder Woman TV show in the works by Boston Legal's own David E. Kelly Here is a look at the photo. I think it looks pretty good. My only gripe is that it looks too shiny, but that could just be because of all the lights from photography. And I miss the red boots. But not too shabby, not too shabby at all.
