New Movie Posters: Man of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness

Two new posters have been released for the upcoming films Man of Steel and Star Trek into Darkness. As you can see, Man of Steel is the new Superman movie. Henry Cavil takes on the role of The Man of Steel himself. This picture is a striking one. Superman being led by two military guards in handcuffs? June 14th can't come soon enough. Star Trek Into Darkness warps into theaters May 17th 2013, it is the sequel to the much appreciated J.J. Abrams "Reboot". This teaser poster shows only a hint of what is in store for this movie. Who is the man standing? Some speculate it is Khan, but I highly doubt that. Another possibility is Gary Mitchell, a character from an early first season Star Trek The Original Series. In the episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before" he possesses powerful psychic abilities and causes great danger to people. A trailer will be attached with the Upcoming movie: The Hobbit. When that happens we should know more. See you next time.

Rumor Alert: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Batman in Justice League Movie!?

Acording to various new sources Joseph Gordon-Levitt may play The Dark Knight in the currently in the works Justice League movie.  But what does this mean? Well, it could actually mean a few different things. The first thing depends on what the Justice League movie is about. It is still being developed so it is tough to say. Buy at the end of The Dark Knight Rises we see a new Batman in the making. Will Levitt play this new Batman? It is possible. But as a character dynamic to play against Superman things may get a bit stale and Super-Friends-y. Another possibility is that he will just be Batman. Depending on what the story is about, Batman could just be Batman. No Secret Identity, No extra baggage. Just Batman on a mission to get the job done. Given the fact that the DC Universe is known for having different universes we could see a very interesting take on this new Batman. What if Levitt was both Batman and Bruce Wayne in Justice League. Making the Justice League movie an

New Iron Man 3 Set Photos

Iron Man 3 has been filming for a few weeks now. Filming was delayed on the set when Robert Downy Jr. hurt his ankle doing a small stunt. But everything is back on track and new on set photos have surfaced. Two new Iron Man armors, one is the new Gold and Red, very heavy on the gold. The other is a Red, White and Blue armor, much like the Iron Patriot armor that Norman Osborn wore. The biggest difference is that it is much heavier in blue. Some believe it is a new or repainted version of the War Machine armor and Don Cheadle, and that is easy enough to believe. After the appearance of Captain America the government wants to capitalize on that type of theme. So, they take their own “Superhero” and dress him in Cap’ Fashion. The reason for the mostly gold look of Iron Man may have more to do with the fact that Iron Man 3 will take its cues from the " Extremis " story line. In that story line there is a type of nano-bot virus or drug that basically makes a person i

Robot Chicken Special: DC Comics

Robot Chicken has always done a fantastic job at making fun of things that we loved as children. And they do so with such care that it is obvious that Seth Green and crew(creators of Robot Chicken) love them just as much as we do. You can probably credit him and his shows, Robot Chicken and Family Guy, for keeping public awareness of Star Wars and getting more people to watch the movies via their serious skits on the show. Now they bring their attention to the DC Universe with that Robot Chicken brand of humor. This is the trailer for the show coming September 9th. DC Comics also put out a special Robot Chicken cover for Aquaman #12

Galactus is Coming…to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Ever since Marvel Comics created its own movie studio back in ’08 there where much vaunted characters that remained with other movie studios. But as it turns out, time is running short on some high end characters. Daredevil and the Fantastic Four have been apart of Fox for years now and the contract, for Daredevil at least, will end before the year is out. Currently, according to Variety, Marvel is in talks with Fox to allow them to keep Daredevil past the deadline of October 10 th . Marvel will in turn get both Galactus and Silver Surfer in their stable. If this goes through Joe Carnahan will direct. His version is said to be more like a Frank Miller tale, hardcore and something akin to a ‘70s thriller. This would be the most apt take on the Superhero as his is very similar to Batman in terms of it being a Crime Drama. This would be a harder sell to Disney, the now Parent Company of Marvel. Chronicle director Josh Trank is slated to reboot the Fantastic Four franchi

Man Of Steel Teaser Trailer

The Dark Knight Rises debuted last night and with it a stunning teaser trailer for the new Superman movie titled: Man Of Steel

ComicCon Coverage Part 2: Man Of Steel Poster

As Day 2 of the San Diego Comic Con comes to a close a few new details have popped up about the new Superman movie, titled: Man Of Steel. It has now been confirmed that the trailer will play before The Dark Knight Rises and it was shown to the crowd at Comic Con. Also a new teaser poster was just unveiled. Along with the poster Marvel has reveled what Tony Stark's new costume will be for Iron Man 3. Seems like Tony got a bit "Ostentatious" since his previous movies as the Armor is now 90% gold.Click on the picture for more photos from Marvel's page.

San Diego Comic con Coverage

Although I am not there for Comic Con I am doing my best to keep track of the up coming info. Just recently  Geoff Johns recently tweeted out a picture for the upcoming CW series Arrow, based on DC Comics Green Arrow.  I am really intrigued about the new CW project. I love the DC Universe and I cant wait to see what this series has in store. As you can see in the pic is the Green Arrow costume along with a tattered black and orange mask. The signature mask of Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke: The Terminator.  What may he be doing in the series? I will be watching. Also, IGN Editor Joey Esposito tweeted out a picture. He said he got it coming from the DC Comics Batman Booth. But what could it mean? One thing is or sure: I want one.

Avengers Assembled: Phase One

Now that Marvel's The Avengers is out and breaking all kinds of records the DVD and Blu-Ray are not far behind. In fact Disney already has a website dedicated to it.  At the Phase One website you can purchase the box set featuring all the Marvel Movies. The question begs, If that is Phase One, what is Phase Two? Iron Man 3 is well under way and filming. One official image has been released. As you can see it is Robert Downy Jr as Tony Stark in front of all the Iron Man Armors. But there is one interesting leaked set photo that catches many peoples attention. In the comic Norman Osborn from Spider-Man wore a very similar costume and called himself Iron Patriot. While I dont expect to see Green Goblin popping up in this it just may be a special custom paint job by the military for War Machine. More than likely to captialize on the reemergence of Captan America. With Thor 2 set to start filming next month and Guardians of the Galaxy moving forward you can expect to see

Comic Book Learning Curve

Reading a comic book for the first time can be a tricky thing. They are filled with history and knowledge that has been in the works for years. To know it all and embrace it all is a doubtless task. But don’t be afraid of it. Embrace the fact that there is a lot to learn, after all, you don’t go into a brand new story knowing exactly everything. When I first got into reading comics I was about 10 year old. My favorite character was and still is Batman. But my first comic book was not really a comic book at all. For this I think I was a bit fortunate. The book was a Wizard 30 th Anniversary X-Men issue. It let me in on all the characters of the X-Men that appeared over the 30 year history of the X-Men. It was quite a chore taking it all in. At the time the ‘90s X-Men cartoon was coming on and everyone was into it. With the book I had not only a small guide as to what to expect with the cartoon but also the rich history of the Marvel Universe. The first thing I noticed was th

Avenger VS The Dark Knight Rises: The Battle Begines

On May 4th Marvel's The Avengers hits theaters. Needless to say it will be one of the biggest box office hits this summer. Already reports are coming in that it will reach over $500 Million World Wide when it finally lands in theaters on the 4th. Also, when you go to see The Avengers make sure you stay through the credits. There is a mid-credit scene and an after credit scene. The second scene is supposed to be more for laughs, while the first hints at the future of the franchise. Next, The Dark Knight Rises. Back in 2008 The Dark Knight was the biggest comic book movie to come out. As it stands 3rd in the US box office with over $533 Million, can Marvel's The Avengers top it? For that matter can the 3rd and final act for Christopher Nolan's Batman top its own record. The latest and possible last major trailer hit the web and will play with Avengers. What will be the final gross for each film?

New Avengers Movie Poster

May 4th is just around the corner, and The Avengers will be one of this years highest grossing movies. The poster features all the Avengers with Robert Downey Jr. front and center. This movie will be one heck of a ride.

Amazing Spider-Man and Avengers Trailer

If you watched the Super Bowl you just may have caught the new trailer for the Avengers coming out this May. In the trailer we get a very good look at the Hulk and a quick glimpse of just who else The Avengers are fighting.   Sony opted out of the Super Bowl and released the new Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man online. In it we see the new villain The Lizard causing havoc and a good look at how Spider-Man's web-shooters really work.

Marvel's Avenges Super Bowl Teaser

Marvel has just released a teaser for the trailer that we will see on Super Bowl XLVI. We see plenty of new footage and a taste of the possible bad guys as well as the Hulk. Check it out.

Biggest Superhero Movies of 2012

There has been a recent wave of superhero movies as of late. Some good, some bad, some great and some not worth mentioning, but how will this year stack up to the rest? That is the question. We are now in a day and age where the superhero can come to life as is was written and drawn in the comic books themselves. But sometimes what's lacking is story. Beyond the mystical images full of splash and lights and slow motion action it is the story that is some times left behind. The year 2012 just may change that. I will start with a superhero movie that is not based on a comic book. Chronicle is a story about three high school kids that gain super powers one day. They proceed to use their powers much like any kid that gains power. They use it recklessly. But it seems one goes a bit too far with his deeds. This seems to be pretty fresh take on the genre as not only comic book superhero movies have been become popular but original superhero movies as well. Most of those are never good.
